WEEKEND RECAP
I had a good weekend. The girlfriend was here. It was great. Mostly we just hung out at my house, which should have been boring, but like I said...it was really great.
I'd go into the details, but it doesn't really make for interesting reading. We watched movies, saw some baseball, she watched me play hockey, and there was a fair amount of cuddling involved.
Great weekend.
WHAT THE FUCK?
We've all seen those decals in the back of car windows where Calvin is pissing. Sometimes he's pissing on a name. Sometimes he's pissing on a logo. Sometimes he's just pissing for the sake of pissing. I have to say that this is the one item people stick on their cars that, no matter how many times I see it, I still like it. It never seems to get old. It might not be as great now as when I first saw years ago, but the image of Calvin making water will never get old.
Tonight I saw a modification of this image that will haunt my dreams. I saw Calvin in the back window of a truck, but he wasn't pissing. He didn't even have that mischevious look on his face. In fact, you couldn't even see his face. Why you ask...because his head was down.
His head was down because he was praying.
I'd never seen this before. Granted, there are many things that exist in the world that I have no knowledge of. And maybe there are millions of people in the world driving around with an image of Calvin praying in their back windows and I just didn't see one until today. Maybe I'm the last person in the world to know about this. Certainly wouldn't be the first time.
But Calvin praying...what the fuck? Somebody needs a life, and for the first time in a while it's not me.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY
Everyone knows the expression "It's like shooting fish in a barrel." It's a fine expression. I like it more than some. I think it's overused, but honestly what expression isn't.
But it occurred to me today that if there are fish in a barrel, why shoot them? Isn't that a little mean? And it's a waste of bullets. Plus, if you're not a good shot you might actually miss, and how embarrassing would that be? To miss the fish in the barrel.
Wouldn't it be easier just to let the water out of the barrel?
